2011 Hidradenitis Suppurativa articles in The Plain Dealer

The Plain Dealer, Cleveland's largest newspaper, made a blog post on December 5, 2011 about hidradenitis on their website cleveland.com.

The post was entitled "Facts about hidradenitis suppurativa" and covered some of the key features of the disease. It reviewed how one might recognize the condition and discussed new treatments. The blog post then announced our upcoming HS CME for physicians and medical professionals.

On December 6, 2011 The Plain Dealer ran another article in their paper and on the website, cleveland.com, about HS entitled, "Painful, little-known skin disease affects 1 in 100 people" that covered some of the aspects of the disease as well as acknowledged the struggles that people with the disease endure. Both were by Evelyn Theiss with mentions of Dr. Hazen and the HS Institute.

The HS Institute is excited to get recognition for the disease in the press and sees this as a step in the right direction to raise awareness. Please click on the titles of the articles to view them on cleveland.com.
